Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing

I have completed a Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing which involves studying for two to three years completing coursework, exams and practical exams, whilst also working in practice full time! I received my qualification and was added onto the Nurses Register in 2018. I currently work at Ridge Referrals, Dawlish - an orthopaedic referral practice, and Woodlands Vets in Manadon, Plymouth.

Once you are an RVN, you can only remain on the register if you complete 45 hours of Continual Professional Development every three years. I thoroughly enjoy this and have completed courses in canine behaviour, physiotherapy, nutrition, marine mammal rescue and many more. This allows me to keep up to date with all the current practices used for pets and wildlife.

I am planning on building on my nursing career and returning to uni next year to carry out the Veterinary Medicine degree and qualify as a Veterinary Surgeon.
